A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter
tempers, wider Freeways ,
but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy
less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less
time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment,
more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little,
drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too
little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our
values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life
not life to years. We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have
trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space
but not inner space. We’ve done larger things, but not better things.

We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We’ve conquered the atom, but
not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish
less. We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold
more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and
less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small
character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two
incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of
quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands,
overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.
It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the
stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when
you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete…

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to
be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that
little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only
treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones,
but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes
from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not
be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious
thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that
take our breath away.

A number,
Makes me want to slumber.
It has no meaning.
Perhaps yes.
I think I don’t know.

A hundred lousy days,
A thousand new mornings,
Endless hot afternoons,
Countless sad evenings,
Another satisfactory night.
Does it matter?
Perhaps it might.
I still don’t know…

But if explained this way:
A happy family trip,
A weekend friendship reunion,
A precious day with your love.
Does it make sense?
I think it does.
So I begin to understand.

When if it was meant this way:
A short but everlasting glance,
A big swirl of emotion,
A day filled with your warmth,
A lifetime with you.
Then dawn shall come.
The blind darkness gone.
And I begin to see.
The light in your eyes.

A small moment in time,
Another moment in life,
A precious time in life,
But everything in our mind
Of moments together, so cherishable.

Memories,
Uncounted by time,
Immeasurable by distance,
Irreplaceable by none.
Yet so fragile, so forgettable.
Made by time, lost in time.

Let’s embrace it with care,
Our memories made together.
Well into the future with more to come.
Added to our wealth of memories.
Remembered with joy,
Remembered with sorrow.

As for you… I remember you well.
As neither a memory, nor forgotten.
You are now, you are here.
You are the present.
Making it all the more cherishable.
Thank you most of all.
For being with me.

The sound of the rooster.
The signal of war.
Guided by heroes of war.
The first wave marches.
Guided by heroes of Light
and heroes of Darkness.

The sound of triumph,

When the first of the heroes
fell with the first blood spilled.
Naturally some rejoiced.
Other vied for revenged.
And the battle continues.
Kills and deaths being counted.

The clash of Arms.
The thunder of magic.
Oh God, what a heated battle.
Towards the ancient Tree…
Towards the ice-cold Throne…

When the End is here,
Either Tree or Throne destroyed,
The Heroes of Light and Darkness gather…
Laughing and heading towards the nearest mamak.
Discussion starts, laughters heard,
Over a drink of "Teh Ais".
That’s it… A Game of DotA.
Against friends and with friends.

For a long time I have been able to predict a person’s personality and character through their facial features (or expressions) and actions. Through this, I was able to see their true emotions too. This ability of insight is perhaps a gift or a talent honed by my analytical mind. Unconscious to us, our facial expressions can show what our heart is feeling. Emotions such as Anger, Sadness, Misery, Pain, Joy and Happiness each has its own unique pattern in a person. Through casual observation, one can actually surmise how a person lives his life and generally predict his past.

But though the theories of emotional patterns are quite accurate, there is still one mysterious emotion that cannot be predicted nor analyzed. That feeling is Love, that is if it can be categorized as an emotion or feeling. In contrast, Love has somehow no known pattern that can be seen. It is unique in each and every person and how they express it. Nobody can ever know if someone is in love or feels love. Ask a hundred people what is love and there would be a hundred different answers. In short, love can never be defined in any way whether it is the love of a parent, siblings or couples. They are all different.

Perhaps you may tell me what is the true meaning love or your version of it, I am curious to know as I have never been able to explain it myself. My lack of exposure to it may perhaps be my weakness or perhaps can a person fear it?

Ever woke up in the morning,
Wondering what you have achieved.
Wondering the purpose of life.
Looking around you and the faces you see,
Realizing that you are
All alone.

But you might not know,
There’s always someone out there looking at you.
Be it caring friends or kind relatives,
No matter where or when,
You will never be alone.
There will always be somebody
In your heart and soul.

Ever sat down and think,
Contemplating right and wrong.
Wondering what you said to your friends.
Appreciate them for who they are.
Trusting, Loyal and Sincere.
They are the makers of friends.
Losing them is like
Losing part of yourself.

Rise up now and look again.
Open your eyes and heart,
Take in the world and embrace it.
You owe her both joy and happiness.
She gave you friends and a family.
Banishing Loneliness.

P.S.: This was my first poem. Don’t be too harsh in your criticism

I know that your hiding things
Using gentle words to shelter me
Your words were like a dream
But dreams could never fool me
Not that easily

I acted so distant then
Didn’t say goodbye before you left
But I was listening
You fight your battles far from me
Far too easily

"Save your tears cause I’ll come back"
I could hear that you whispered as you walked through that door
But still I swore
To hide the pain, when I turn back the pages
Shouting might have been the answer
What if I cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart
But now I’m not afraid to say what’s in my heart

Though a thousand words
Have never been spoken
Will fly to you
Crossing over the time
And distance holding you, suspended on silver wings
And a thousand words
One thousand confessions
Will cradle you
Making all of the pain you feel seem far away
They’ll hold you forever

The dream isn’t over yet
Though I often say I can’t forget
I still relive that day
You’ve been there with me all the way
I still hear you say

"Wait for me, I’ll write you letters"
I could see how you stand with your eyes to the floor
But still I swore
To hide the doubt when I turn back the pages
Anger might have been the answer
What if I’d hung my head and said that I couldn’t wait
But now I’m strong enough to know it’s not too late

’cause a thousand words
Call out through the ages
Will fly to you
Even though we can’t see
I know they are reaching you, suspended on silver wings
Oh a thousand words
One thousand embraces
Will cradle you
Making all of your weary days seem far away
Will hold you forever

Oh, a thousand words
Have never been spoken
SWill fly to you
They’ll carry you home, and into my arms
Suspended on silver wings
And a thousand words
Call out through the ages
Will cradle you
Make all of the lonely years to lonely days
They’ll hold you forever.

Oh, a thousand words…

Note: This is not a poem, this is the lyrics to my favourite song.

This is an update for some of my previous blogs (Define The Undefined, Finally!!! and the Chemistry)
Unfortunately, it seems that the chemical mixture is too volatile to be mixed together. The mixture of chemicals, after being left awhile seems to be able to separate (un-mix) themselves. Looks like the experiment was a failure after all. Seems to me I failed to observe the situation well as I was the last to know… It is a funny thing. I’m exposed half of the chemical everyday and I failed to notice it though there were some signs. From this story, I think it’s better not to mess with chemicals ever again. That goes for my other friends who were involved with the experiment too.

P.S. I’m not really talking about real chemicals.

Rhyner signing out till lext time.

The path of neutrality is a lonely one indeed. Why are friends divided into so many groups? And each group inevitably demands loyalty. Do we have to choose who we want to be with? Yet for those who wish to unite all friends together are few. Inevitably, we will be confronted with the problem of which side to choose. Ingrained with the need of a sense of belonging. Will there be a day where we don’t have to choose which friends to be with and that all are equal? To go out with all friends together without worrying that you are leaving someone behind? To feel happy that you are being fair and just? Perhaps you should ask yourself, is it fair to alienate a friend? Do we value our friend differently? By money? By usefulness? If so, why? Perhaps the answer is that all of us are flawed in many ways but shouldn’t we try to improve ourselves? After all, our purpose is to strife for perfection though we may never be perfect. Aren’t we humans after all?
